On top of our standard checklist of up to 180 points, carried out wherever the vehicle is.
- Paint thickness readings on every panel, to find resprays and filler
- Rust and corrosion on sills, floors, subframes, arches and seams
- Signs of accident repair, panel replacement or poor restoration
- Engine, gearbox, clutch, brakes, suspension and steering condition
- OBD2 diagnostics where the car has it (most cars from about 2001 petrol, 2004 diesel)
- Service history, invoices and MOT history reviewed

Do you value classic cars?
No. We report on the car’s condition, not its market value. For an agreed value for insurance, use a specialist valuer or the owners’ club for that model.
Can you check a car that has no diagnostic port?
Yes. Older cars are checked by eye, by ear and on the road test, which matter more for these cars than a scan does anyway.
Will you check whether a classic is original?
We record what we can see, such as signs of resprays, replaced panels and non-original parts, and flag anything that doesn’t match the history. For detailed originality checks on a rare model, we recommend also asking a marque specialist.
How much does it cost?
Classic & prestige car inspections use our fixed prices, from £69.99 for Basic up to £169.99 for Ultimate, with no travel charge in London. We recommend Ultimate, for paint thickness readings on every panel, the frame and chassis check and the longest road test.
